How a Weekly Hotel Yoga Class Grew Into a Multi-Year Wellness Program

When Hyatt Regency Boston wanted to bring accessible wellness programming to its downtown property, ThriveHub helped establish a recurring yoga experience designed for hotel guests and the surrounding community.

What began in February 2017 developed into a nearly three-year relationship encompassing more than 130 class dates, approximately two dozen guided meditation experiences, seasonal schedule changes, Saturday sessions, and special wellness activations.

Establishing a Consistent Hotel Wellness Offering

The program began with a weekly yoga class in February 2017. ThriveHub managed the professional instructors needed to keep the experience running consistently while accommodating the unique operational needs of a busy downtown hotel.

The initial schedule evolved as the hotel learned more about its audience. Classes moved from early mornings to evening time slots, helping the program become a more natural fit for guests and local participants.

Rather than treating the first schedule as permanent, ThriveHub and the hotel allowed the experience to develop in response to how people were actually using it.

Expanding the Schedule and Its Reach

By 2018, the program had grown beyond its initial weekly format. Wednesday evening yoga continued, while Saturday morning classes created another way for hotel guests and members of the public to participate.

The broader schedule positioned wellness as more than a one-time hotel event. It became an ongoing amenity that could serve different audiences and travel schedules throughout the year.

Adding Guided Meditation and Special Programming

In 2019, Hyatt Regency Boston expanded the experience again by adding brief guided meditation sessions after many of its weekly yoga classes.

These meditation add-ons gave participants another opportunity to decompress, reset, and transition out of the physical practice. They also demonstrated how an established hotel yoga program could evolve without requiring the property to build an entirely new offering from scratch.

ThriveHub also supported special activations, including yoga and meditation designed for runners and programming connected with Global Wellness Day.

Building Participation Through Consistency

The strongest evidence of the program’s development appeared in early 2020.

Across the eight sessions with recorded attendance between January and March, classes averaged approximately 23 participants. One class welcomed 29 people.

Those results reflected the value of maintaining and refining the program over time. The hotel had developed a recognizable wellness experience that could serve guests, staff, and members of the local community.

A Flexible Model for Hotel Wellness

Over nearly three years, ThriveHub helped Hyatt Regency Boston turn one recurring class into a multifaceted wellness program.

The relationship demonstrates what becomes possible when hotel wellness programming is treated as an experience that can grow:

  • More than 130 class dates

  • Approximately two dozen guided meditation add-ons

  • Weekly and Saturday programming

  • Guest, staff, and public participation

  • Special event and themed wellness sessions

  • Attendance reaching 29 participants in a single class

Through professional instructor staffing, schedule flexibility, and new program formats, ThriveHub helped Hyatt Regency Boston maintain a wellness offering that evolved alongside the needs of its property and participants.
