How The Westin Boston Waterfront Created a Dependable Weekly Yoga Experience for Travelers

Hotel wellness programming presents a unique challenge: the audience changes constantly.

Guests arrive with different schedules, abilities, and levels of yoga experience. Some practice every week, while others may be stepping onto a yoga mat for the first time.

Beginning in February 2019, ThriveHub—then YogaHub—helped The Westin Boston Waterfront provide a consistent weekly yoga experience designed for that changing population.

The program continued through March 2020 and included more than 50 weekly sessions for hotel guests and staff.

A Weekly Wellness Amenity for Hotel Guests

The Westin Boston Waterfront wanted to provide travelers with an accessible way to stay active and grounded during their visit.

ThriveHub developed an all-levels weekly vinyasa class that combined movement, stretching, breathwork, and guided relaxation. Classes were held every Wednesday morning, allowing guests to begin their day with a complete wellness experience before attending meetings, conferences, or exploring Boston.

The format was flexible enough to serve experienced practitioners and complete beginners in the same room.

Consistency Across a Changing Audience

Unlike a traditional studio, a hotel rarely serves the same students every week. The program needed to feel consistent without assuming participants had attended before.

ThriveHub supported the series with a regular dedicated instructor who became familiar with the property, its staff, and the operational details of the class.

Each session remained approachable for new arrivals while still providing a meaningful practice for returning guests and employees.

That consistency allowed The Westin to maintain a recognizable wellness amenity across more than a year of weekly programming.

Creating a Ready-to-Use Yoga Space

Classes were hosted near the hotel’s pool and mezzanine area.

To make participation convenient for travelers, the onsite program included:

  • Yoga mats

  • Blocks

  • Blankets

  • Yoga straps

  • Music

  • Guided meditation and relaxation

Guests did not need to travel with equipment or locate a nearby studio. They could simply arrive and participate.

ThriveHub coordinated the instructors and class experience while working with the hotel on room access, equipment, setup, and other onsite details.

Supporting Business and Conference Travelers

Located near the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, The Westin Boston Waterfront regularly served guests traveling for work and large events.

The weekly class gave business travelers an opportunity to move and reset within the hotel before beginning a demanding day.

Groups staying at the property could also arrange private wellness classes, creating an additional option for conference agendas, corporate gatherings, and group itineraries.

A Program Built Around Reliability

Over the course of the partnership, ThriveHub helped The Westin deliver more than 50 recurring classes.

The program included:

  • A consistent weekly schedule

  • A regular dedicated instructor

  • All-levels classes for changing guest populations

  • A complete onsite equipment collection

  • Registration and attendance support

  • Private-class options for visiting groups

  • Coordination with hotel staff and operations

The result was a dependable wellness experience that complemented The Westin’s broader commitment to helping travelers maintain their well-being away from home.
