How Moxy Boston Downtown Created a Revenue-Offsetting Rooftop Yoga Experience

Moxy Boston Downtown wanted to create a wellness experience that would appeal to both traveling guests and members of the local community.

ThriveHub helped the hotel launch Moxy Rooftop Yoga: Flow Together. Glow Together., a recurring weekend yoga series hosted on the property’s 24th-floor rooftop.

What began as an initial 24-class booking expanded into recurring programming through the fall of 2025. Along the way, ThriveHub supported nearly every part of the experience—from instructors and equipment to registration, branded graphics, participant communication, and payment collection.

Creating an Experience for Guests and the Community

The rooftop series was designed to serve two audiences at once.

Hotel guests could add an approachable wellness experience to their stay, while Boston residents could visit the property for a distinctive rooftop yoga class in the heart of downtown.

To make the experience welcoming and memorable, ThriveHub developed the program identity:

Flow Together. Glow Together.

The all-levels vinyasa classes combined energizing movement, breath, community, and relaxation. Most sessions were held on weekend mornings, with select Sunday sunset classes creating an additional rooftop experience.

Building a Complete Pop-Up Yoga Studio

A hotel rooftop does not ordinarily have everything needed to operate as a yoga studio.

ThriveHub helped transform the space by coordinating a full collection of yoga equipment, including:

  • Yoga mats

  • Blocks

  • Blankets

  • Yoga belts

Guests received complimentary mat access with their registration. Members of the public could bring their own mat or rent one as part of their booking.

This equipment model allowed the hotel to welcome travelers who had not packed yoga gear while still serving local participants who preferred to bring their own.

A Revenue-Offsetting Model

Moxy offered paid registration to both hotel guests and members of the public, with mat access available for travelers who did not bring their own equipment.

ThriveHub managed the registration options, participant payments, and class reminders. The resulting student fees were applied toward the hotel’s program costs, helping Moxy reduce its investment while continuing to offer a distinctive wellness experience.

This created a flexible model that served hotel guests, welcomed the surrounding community, and generated revenue to support the program.

Supporting the Program With Branded Promotion

A public hotel class needs more than an instructor and a room. It also needs a clear identity and enough promotional support for people to discover it.

ThriveHub developed an extensive collection of customized marketing materials for Moxy, including:

  • Hotel guest graphics

  • Public registration graphics

  • Instagram content

  • Rooftop yoga promotional materials

  • Class descriptions and instructor biographies

  • Registration links for each pricing option

  • Suggested email and onsite promotion

The campaign used Moxy’s energetic personality alongside the program’s #AtTheMoxy and #FindYourFlow messaging.

ThriveHub also provided participants with automated reminders, helping create a smoother experience between registration and arrival.

From an Initial Series to an Extended Program

The original engagement included 24 rooftop yoga classes scheduled from February through early May 2025.

The program did not end there. Moxy continued offering weekend rooftop classes through the summer and into the fall, demonstrating how a seasonal activation could develop into an extended hotel wellness program.

ThriveHub continued supporting the program with professional instructors, equipment, registration, participant communication, payment management, and promotional resources.

More Than a Hotel Yoga Class

The Moxy Boston Downtown program brought several pieces together:

  • A memorable rooftop setting

  • Professional, all-levels instruction

  • A complete yoga equipment collection

  • Separate guest and public pricing

  • Online registration and reminders

  • Custom-branded promotional graphics

  • Revenue that helped offset the hotel’s investment

  • An initial series that expanded through multiple seasons

The result was more than a recurring yoga class. It was a turnkey wellness experience connecting the hotel, its guests, and the surrounding Boston community.
